cheeryhalf and twistedhalf

greetings fans! another two brand new ones - cheeryhalf and twistedhalf. These two are twins, same samples, same length, same bpm and made in parallel. more tape recorders, a homemade acid patch done in a soft modular thingy and a wee bit of circuit bending feature, as well as lots of 808 hits.

enjoy

yo!

two new tunes up - towering tape organ and cuckoo spit, both brand new. These started out using the same initial samples but got quite a bit different! cuckoo spit is off on a slightly cheesy (well ok rampantly cheesy) summery tip and towering tape organ is the sound of me thinking about an imaginary big knackered instrument that is somehow a cross between a mellotron and church organ and has loads of cogs and cranks and pulleys and totally creaks with bits falling off and stuff. It is also mostly made from samples processed through c-90s. I'll probably make one of these downloadable at some point soon when I encode a decent quality version.

hope you like

Hey Bradley, its nothing serious, but sometimes when you press comments (try it with the 12 comments one) the horizontal toolbar goes huge and you can scroll right accross the page, i think its something to do with the bottom right image.

by the way, i cant wait for your new version of mypropaganda.

Cheers

Apologies, i should spell your name right ... Bradlay.

plus, you need to press comments, so the page opens up, then press comments again so it closes, then the page goes very large.

Using IE, i hope you dont blame the browser.

about me

Hello! I am greenbank, I'm based in Edinburgh, Scotland, originally from near St. Andrews and I have been composing music on my computer for a good 7 years or so.

My music is all fairly poppy-electronic in style with a lot of electro/80s influence coming through lately, I won't waste words attempting to describe it - have a wee listen! The tracks I've picked for on here are quite a good cross-section of my work.

My main influences are modern electronica stuff of various styles, 80's pop, classic electro, 80's film soundtracks, jungle and anything with awesome synths and proper rocking-out-on-the-drum-machine drums!

I produce all my music in modplug tracker, which is an excellent open-source tracker program for windows that handles VSTs and is (for me) far superior to similar programs like renoise. I use various programs for editing samples too.

Hardware-wise I recently updated my old desktop computer to a 2 GHz machine which will keep me happy for a while. I don't really use anything else in the production process except an ever-increasing number of old tape recorders which I seem to be accumulating and a battered old minidisc recorder with the world's worst microphone (pulled off a cheap webcam set or something). I don't have a laptop - this causes me no end of trouble!

You can contact me at greenbank@gmail.com - music work offers especially appreciated!
